Although
the Courageous is basically a modified Galaxy Class starship,
the bridge was not based on the standard module of a Galaxy class
starship. Instead, the Tri-Warp project design team drew inspiration
from the bridge modules of the Galaxy and Intrepid classes.
The floor's carpeting
is blue, and the overall bridge color scheme is basically gray, and
the chairs are upholstered in blue cloth.
The command chair is
set in the center of the bridge, on a slightly elevated platform. Two
seats are set to the sides of the command chair, on the same level as
the rest of the front partion of the bridge. Flip-up computer consoles
separate the lower chairs from the command seat. The consoles are adjustable
in height, so that they can be used by the captain, or by the subordinate
officers.
In front of the command
chair are the helm and navigation consoles, near the viewscreen. Because
the ship's tri-warp system is so advanced, tests showed that flight
operations were handled better if the helm functions were divided between
two flight officers, one dedicated to navigation and another dedicated
to flight control. However, either station could be modified to handle
both functions.
Directly behind the
command chair is the tactical station, mounted on a freestanding curved
console, akin to the Galaxy class Tactical station.
The ship's general display
panel is set on the rearmost wall, in the middle of a curving bank of
computer stations.. The upper half of the panel shows the top view of
the Courageous, while the bottom half shows a starboard view.
On the sides, a fore and aft view of the ship are displayed. The diagrams
are displayed in various schemes of green, yellow, and blue. On the
right of the bridge is the science station and damage control station.
On the left of the bridge is the operations station cubicle, which oversaw
the ship's systems.
To the left of the captain
is an Operations cubicle, akin to the cubicle stations found on the
Intrepid class bridge modules. Near the OPS station is the entrance
to the Captains Ready Room.
To the right of the
captain is another cubicle station, dedicated to Engineering. Monitors
and auxiliary stations were set between the Engineering station and
the door to the Conference Lounge.
As per standard operating
procedures, two turbolifts and multiple Jeffries tubes provide several
points of ingress and egress for the Bridge. Both turbolifts are pre-programmed
to emergency evacuation to the Battle Bridge.

The ship's dedication plaque, as seen
near the aft computer stations.
